The House and Garden Tour of Note Committee is disappointed that all their planning for the 22nd House and Garden Tour has had to be put on hold until June, 2022.  We are working hard to prepare for our next House and Garden Tour, which will please and astound you!

It is with much regret that, following discussions, it has been decided to cancel the Love of Music Marathon 2021. Continuing uncertainties surrounding the pandemic do not allow enough time to organize a traditional event this year. An enhanced festival will take place in 2022.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Volunteer Committee is an independent charitable organization dedicated to both fundraising and fundsaving activities in support of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.  It has an annually elected Board of Directors.

Garden Drawing Challenge - Extended to June 30!

The K-W Symphony Volunteer Committee is happy to collaborate with the Waterloo Gardeners who have organized a drawing challenge for young gardeners in Kitchener and Waterloo to help them develop their appreciation of the Arts along with their love of the natural environment.

Entries will be welcomed from the beginning to the end of June 2021 and the drawings will be displayed online in June. Young gardeners and artists up to the age of twelve, related to a KWSVC volunteer or a member of Waterloo Gardeners, are invited to draw a picture of a garden they like in Kitchener or Waterloo. They can draw with crayons, markers, pastels, or anything else they have at home, and name it after a song or a music piece that reminds them of the garden they have drawn.

Parents will email the drawing and name of the song or music piece to Waterloo Gardeners. The artists name on each entry will be entered in a draw. One name will be drawn each Saturday in June and the winner will be contacted. Each of the four winners will receive an Herb Garden, a Granite Percussion tambourine, and, graciously provided by the K-W Symphony, a voucher for a Family Concert in the fall.

We look forward to discovering gardens from Kitchener and Waterloo through the eyes of young budding artists. Drawings will be shown on our website during the months of June and July.
